"Which Door to Open? What Keys are Needed?" - College Planning Seminar

Navigating the college admissions process can be a stressful and pressurized experience for both students and parents.

We firmly believe in keeping doors open, but there is certainly one door that is a better fit for each individual child. The role of parents in the decision is also a critical factor, even though there are identifiable influences suggesting otherwise.

The goal of the seminar is to introduce high school students and parents to the college admissions process, but also to reflect on what it takes to discern which is the right door to open.

The featured speaker will be myself. I have been guiding and directing the high school students (and their parents) over the last 5 years. Even though our recent graduates are extremely successful in terms of college acceptances - I can't think of a senior who did not gain acceptance into his or her first-choice - I think it is vitally important to consider that God has a different plan for each child.

We can tout which colleges our students attend all we want, but vocational success is much more dependent on character and competency, not just a degree. We are of course very proud of the accomplishments of our seniors, but I think we all understand that a moral compass is just as important as any college degree.

And if you are not familiar with where our seniors generally go after MRA, the information is available on our website:

The seminar will take place on April 11th in the St. Joseph Center, beginning at 6:30pm.
