Please mark your calendars for Saturday, September 22. We are thrilled to announce that Bishop Peter Libasci will be at Mount Royal Academy celebrating Mass for the dedication of our new building! The Mass will be held at 10 a.m. in the St. Joseph's Center. This event is open to the public, and of course, we would love to see all Mount Royal Families at this wonderful event. It is an honor to have the Bishop join us at this dedication. All Mount Royal students attending this Mass should wear their MRA uniforms. A reception will be held immediately after the Mass.

Back To School Mass/Potluck on Sunday, September 9. 

Mount Royal Academy students, faculty and parents will be celebrating the start to the 2012-2013 school year at the 10 a.m. Mass at St. Joachim on September 9. EVERYONE is invited to attend this Mass, regardless of whether or not you are Catholic. Mount Royal students should wear their school uniforms to this special Mass. Following Mass, your family is invited to a potluck reception back at the school at 11:15. We are gearing up for the start of school on Tuesday, Sept. 4th!

Teachers officially reported to school today, although all teachers have been unofficially preparing their classrooms since the opening of the new building. The campus has undergone a several changes in the past week alone. The parking area and driveway were paved and lined last week, and fresh grass is being laid down all over campus during this upcoming week. When families return to school next week, there will certainly be lot of surprised looks.

Mount Royal Academy announced today that author Joseph Pearce will serve as Visiting Scholar beginning this fall.  Pearce is the renowned biographer of Catholic literary figures such as G.K. Chesterton, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Hilaire Belloc.

As Visiting Scholar Pearce will deliver public lectures on Shakespeare and masterworks such as J.R.R. Tolkien’s Hobbit, as well as the thought of G.K. Chesterton and C.S. Lewis.  He will assist within the Academy with curricular and faculty development, and mentor students who wish to advance their abilities as young writers.

Mount Royal Academy is thankful and very excited to announce that Mr. Patrick Reilly, president of the nationally acclaimed Catholic apostolate The Cardinal Newman Society, will be visiting the MRA campus on September 4th, the first day of school!

Mr. Reilly will give a keynote statement that is open to the public, addressing the current state of Catholic higher education in America. The address will begin at 7:00pm. Parents of all age levels are strongly encouraged to attend.

We are pleased to announce that the new PreK-8 classroom building is completed! Now that construction is over, the campus grounds are being reconstructed as well. By September 3rd, the first day of school, the entire parking lot will be paved, as well as the walkways and paths connection the three campus buildings. In addition, the gymnasium floor was refinished.

The students, faculty, and families of Mount Royal Academy are greatly indebted to the generosity and kindness of numerous benefactors. Every week as we come together to celebrate Mass or pray the rosary, students always deliberately mention that we should pray for our benefactors.

These are exciting times at Mount Royal. Not only has God graced us with more students and families than ever before (we are about to eclipse a total enrollment of 130 students!!!), He has also continually provided the infrastructure and resources needed in order to adequately educate and form the students.

Don't miss the annual Summer Bazaar sponsored by St. Patrick's Parish and Mount Royal Academy, this upcoming Saturday (July 14th) from 9:00am - 2:00pm. Stop by St. Joachim's in Sunapee to visit various vendors and take a stab at saving big on hundreds of items for sale.
