Visiting Scholar Dr. Pearce to Address Class of 2013

Accomplished author and Catholic intellectual extraordinaire Dr. Joseph Pearce has generously agreed to speak to the graduating class of 2013. The graduation ceremonies will take place on June 8th, beginning with Holy Mass at 10:00am at St. Joachim's in Sunapee, NH. The address will take place in the St. Joseph's center on MRA's campus following Mass.

St. Joseph Celebration Moved to Wednesday, March 20th

We will be having a snow day tomorrow, so we will be celebrating St. Joseph's Day on Wednesday.

A few reminders...

1. This will be a RED TAG DAY - so students may wear red clothing in keeping with the Tag Day guidelines.

2. Here is a schedule of the events:10:30-11:30 - MASS (Parents are welcome to attend)11:30-12:15 - Pasta Lunch for all students and faculty.12:45-2:00 - Surprise Activity in St. Joseph's Gymnasium

Walk-A-Thon Raises Nearly 18,000

Thank you to all of the students, parents, and benefactors who made the 2013 Walk-A-Thon as smashing success!

Who would have predicted that we would surpass last year's Walk-A-Thon pledges by almost $8,000? Well that is precisely what happened! Students raised over $17,500 in pledges for the school, and donations are still coming in online. We can't say thank you enough to all of the students and families who worked so hard to make this happen! This is a wonderfully blessed and Spirit filled school community. Praise Jesus!

Junior High Girls Basketball Team Crowned Champions

Congrats to the junior high girl's basketball team, who earned the title "champions" today! The girls defeated Henniker in another 1 point game today. They showed grit and determination. Thank you to all of the fans who came out to support the Knights of Our Lady.

Praise God! We are so thankful that our girls were given the opportunity to work together and achieve a difficult goal. We are also appreciative of all the sacrifices that Coach LaRose and parents made to support the girls.

Catholic Schools Week Party Fun-Filled and Memorable

What better way to celebrate Catholic Schools week than to throw a school wide party?

MRA students across all grade levels experienced tons of fun on Friday afternoon. The fun included indoor mini-golf, musical chairs, parachute games, baked goods, hot chocolate, and pictionary. Students were divided into teams and each team had a team leader from the high school. Team leaders brought the younger children to stations on campus where the fun was happening. Other older children helped organize and supervise the various stations.

MRA Students Serve as Inspiration for Art Teacher's Paintings

Mount Royal Academy art teacher Margaret Dwyer will have an Art Opening at the Library Arts Center in Newport.  Some of her watercolors feature Mount Royal Academy students sledding and at other winter outdoor activities.

Mrs. Dwyer would be please to have any and all of the Mount Royal families attend the opening. It is open to the public, tonight from 5 – 7 pm at the Library Arts Center, which is located in the former carriage house of the Richards Free Library at 58 N. Main. St. in Newport.

There is no charge and refreshments are served.
